Junior Zoo Keeper Experience

Our junior zoo keeper experience is designed to give you a hands on, behind the scenes view of what’s involved with looking after animals at Bristol Zoo Gardens. The sessions take place on Saturdays and Sundays and last 2 hours. During this time you will have an opportunity to experience and have fun in four key areas:

  • Animal enrichment
  • Housekeeping
  • Food preparation
  • Animal feeding

During the session you’ll have plenty of hands-on experience of cleaning enclosures, feeding, and animal enrichment.

Restrictions

Junior keeper experience is only available to people aged 6-15 years of age who must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Regrettably certain guests will be unable to take part including people with relevant phobias or known allergies; pregnant women; and immunocompromised individuals. Whilst every effort is made to accommodate those with a disability or learning difficulty, due to practicality and health and safety this cannot always be achieved, unfortunately we cannot accommodate wheelchair users; please contact Bristol Zoo for advice before purchasing. No refund will be given for cancellations.

Cost

The ‘Junior keeper experience’ costs £90 per person (inc. VAT) and includes souvenir gifts of a t-Shirt and certificate and admission to the Zoo for the accompanying adult.
