Bristol Zoo pop-up shop to open at The Mall at Cribbs Causeway for Christmas - 04/11/11

Unique gifts and animal experiences will be on offer in a new, pop-up shop from Bristol Zoo at The Mall, Cribbs Causeway from next week.

TYou can adopt Bristol Zoo's baby gorilla, Kukenahe Bristol Zoo shop will open on the ground floor, near John Lewis, next Friday, November 11thand will be open every day (excluding Christmas day) until Saturday January 7, 2012.

It offers a variety of Christmas present ideas for animal lovers or the friend who is difficult to buy for - from Zoo tickets and membership, to animal adoptions, toys, teddies and unique animal experiences.

Gifts that allow you to get up-close to the animals include ‘keeper for the day’ and ‘junior keeper for the day’. The Zoo also offers unique ‘animal experience’ gifts that include getting hands-on with meerkats, seals, penguins or lemurs.

Animal adoptions also make a great present and you can choose from a Soft toys will be available from the new Zoo shopselection of different animals to adopt, such as Babushka the meerkat, Poppy the penguin or Kukena the new baby gorilla. Adoption gift packages cost £45 and include two zoo tickets, a cuddly toy, a certificate, the Zoo magazine, a fact file about your animal and your name displayed by the zoo’s animal exhibit.

By adopting an animal you will be making a valuable contribution towards the upkeep of the animals and supporting field conservation of threatened species in the wild.

What’s on at Bristol Zoo this Christmas

Bristol Zoo’s Fantabulous Christmas - two evenings of Christmas capers.
December 19 & 20, 5.30pm – 8pm
Two magical evenings of festive frolics. Visitors will be able to join in with carol singing, meet and feed Santa’s reindeer,listen to a merry brass band and be entertained by the Snowball Sprites and the Lost Elves as they roam around the Zoo. There will also be spectacular ice sculpting demonstrations, offering visitors the chance to have a go themselves. As well as enjoying the festivities, visitors will be able to meet Santa in his welcoming grotto*, listen to story-telling around the bonfire and visit the animals in the heated Aquarium, Reptile House and Bugworld.Tickets in advance: £7.50 (£5 child) / family £20. On the night £9 (£6 child) / family £24. Discounts apply for Zoo members and groups of 10+. Meet and feed Santa’s reindeer

Jingle and Belle will be flying in to Bristol Zoo for the Christmas holidays. Visitors can get up-close to the reindeer, stroke their velvety noses and feed them their favourite food (small charge applies/STA).
