Rewilding Landscapes - Keynote Lecture Revitalising or rebranding conservation?

Monday 10 December 2018

18:00 - 19:30

Conservation Education Centre

Speaker: Andrew Terry - Head of Field Programmes and UK Development, Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust

Rewilding is becoming a widely discussed concept that seems to disturb and inspire in equal measures. Durrell believes that this is one of the most exciting movements within conservation at the moment and has shaped its new global strategy around the concept.

Andrew will discuss why Durrell has adopted this approach, what it means for zoos in particular, and what he sees as the future for zoo conservation. He will illustrate this with examples from Durrell’s projects around the world.

Funds will go towards the Bristol Zoological Society Alumni Fund, which provides an annual award for distinguished alumni of our Higher Education Provision.
