About Bristol Zoo Garden’s Learning Department
The Learning Department is a large department in the Zoo, based in the Conservation Education Centre. Here are some of the teams who work here:
Zoo Rangers- this section engage Zoo guests through delivering animal enclosure talks, and talking to guests in the animal walk-through exhibits
Zoo Education- this large team delivers a wide range of education sessions in four zoo classrooms for groups of 4-18 year olds. They also work on zoo interpretation projects.
Zoo Graphics- four graphic designers and one wildlife illustrator are based in a graphics studio here in the Zoo.
Zoo Library- our librarian manages a specialist collection of resources for students and staff.
Avon Gorge and Downs (AGD) Wildlife Project- the two Education Officers run a range of outdoor education sessions for schools and playschemes. They also organise walks and talks, children’s holiday events and run workshops at community events.
