Bristol Zoological Society is world-famous. Established in 1835, Bristol Zoological Society is a charity dedicated to saving wildlife together. We do this through conservation action and engaging people with the natural world. We achieve our mission through operating two zoos, engaging with visitors, formal and informal education programmes and through a series of science and conservation programmes.
Bristol Zoological Society is entering an exciting phase of growth and development as we embark on the delivery of a new strategy for the Society. During 2020 we will be expanding the Fundraising and Development team and strengthening our charitable status and philanthropic income.
The Philanthropy Manager is responsible for monitoring prospects and engaging donors through all phases: identification, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship and renewal. This role is key to our capital fundraising campaign and will help us to deepen our donors’ engagement with the Society’s work.
We are seeking an individual who is genuinely motivated by building relationships and creating connections between individuals and our mission. The successful candidate will be confident, approachable and have a high EQ. Significant experience in a successful fundraising team is essential, along with a proven track record in securing major gifts and the ability to build sustainable relationships with a wide range of donors and key stakeholders. This new position plays a key role in shaping the future of the Society’s capital campaign going forward.
