Friday Twilights will run weekly in July and August providing a rare opportunity to enjoy the Zoo after hours.

Bristol-based Circus Uncertainty will be performing stilt walking around the grounds and juggling on the main lawn. There will also be acoustic music provided on different nights by three Bristol musicians and bands.

Craig Sutton, better known as The Flamenco Thief, will deliver a blend of gypsy-jazz, rumba and ska fused with intricate Flamenco guitar.

The Alfie Kingston Duo will also be appearing on selected dates performing a wide range of covers and another Bristol band, Baraka, will provide a set of world music with African and Caribbean rhythms.

Holly Hill, marketing manager at Bristol Zoo Gardens, said: “We’ve had evening openings at the Zoo for the past six years and they have proved really successful. Our visitors love these evening events - they are a time when memories that last a lifetime are made.”

The evening will also offer children’s fun, with craft activities, face painting, games and more. Food, drinks and summer cocktails will also be served throughout the evening in The Hide.

The Zoo’s popular Zooropia high-level walk will also be open during Friday Twilights, with an additional charge.

In addition to the entertainment, visitors will be able to wander around the award-winning zoological gardens and see the animals as the sun goes down.

The first Friday Twilight event takes place on July 6 and, for the following six Fridays until August 17, visitors will be able to buy tickets and see the animals and attraction late into the evening.
