Avon Gorge & Downs Wildlife Project

Who are we?

Avon Gorge & Downs Wildlife Project was launched in 1999 to highlight the outstanding wildlife of the Bristol side of the Avon Gorge and Clifton & Durdham Downs, and to encourage awareness of this unique location and its importance as a habitat for native species.

The Project is a partnership of Bristol Zoological Society, Society of Merchant Venturers, Bristol City Council, Natural England, University of Bristol Botanic Gardens, Downs Committee, National Trust, Forestry England, Friends of the Downs and Avon Gorge.
