Bristol Zoological Society is recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to join the Projects team and support the Director of Estates with the delivery of projects at Bristol Zoo Gardens and Wild Place Project.
A role with great variety, the post holder will ensure that results meet and exceed the requirements and expectations of internal clients throughout the delivery of the Society’s exciting capital expenditure pipeline. The individual will work closely with the Exhibit Design Manager and be responsible for ensuring all projects are delivered on time, within budget and on mission for the Society as a conservation and learning charity that provides a great day out for guests.
To succeed in this role the post holder must possess highly effective project management skills including the ability to communicate and influence at a senior level, negotiate and manage suppliers, demonstrate leadership and problem solving capabilities, hold excellent organisational, analytical and IT skills and possess the ability to simultaneously balance a wide variety of complex projects with demanding stakeholders. Strong attention to detail will be required together with the ability to work under pressure in a variety of situations.
Previous experience of managing large, complex and high value projects, through to successful completion, is essential with excellent landscape and construction technology knowledge highly desirable. The candidate will have sound project process knowledge, understand health and safety requirements, such as CDM regulations, and ideally hold PRINCE2 certification.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills together with a can-do attitude. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to interact on a professional level with architects, planners, subject matter experts and other stakeholders, is also required.
