Bristol Zoological Society is a conservation and education charity, which runs and operates Bristol Zoo Gardens and Wild Place Project. We save wildlife together, through conservation science research, working to protect species and habitat’s overseas, encouraging sustainable behaviours, educating tomorrow’s wildlife warriors and giving families a great day out.
We also run a number of Higher Education programmes in collaboration with the University of the West of England, the University of Bristol and South Gloucestershire and Stroud College and we support our students and staff onsite with a library and archive facility.
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced individual to join our Learning and Field Conservation & Science teams to help us deliver an excellent student experience and to maintain and grow our teaching resources.
Your main responsibilities will be to manage the library, liase with students using the library and computer resources, and ensure the smooth operation of the Institute for Conservation Science and Learning by supporting staff with administrative tasks, coordinating room bookings and managing our card access system.
The successful candidate will have proven experience of working in or running a successful library and the ability to plan and deliver study skill sessions around digital and information literacy skills.
Excellent ICT skills and both oral and written communication skills are essential as well as the ability to deliver an excellent level of customer service to our service users.
