Bristol Zoological Society has a vacancy for a part-time Education Officer to join our Learning Department for three days per week.
You will be required to teach sessions within the Zoo’s purpose-built Conservation Education Centre, on a range of topics, to booked groups of varying age and ability; also to assist with many other tasks within the Department, including seasonal activities.
The successful candidate will have a degree or equivalent in a biological or related science and/or teaching qualification.
A broad knowledge of animals, plants, habitats, wildlife conservation and environmental issues is essential.
Experience in communicating with a wide range of audiences, in particular the general public and children is essential and experience of teaching or assisting in primary or secondary school would also be an advantage.
You must be flexible, able to work under pressure and happy to work independently and as part of a team. Basic ICT skills are essential.
