Bristol Zoo Gardens

Easter Eggstravaganza

For the Easter Holidays (25 March - 11 April), and back by popular demand, Bristol Zoo Gardens has re-designed its Easter Trail this year; children can collect a trail sheet on their way into the Zoo and then search the Zoo grounds on this fact finding trail.

During Easter weekend (25 – 28 March), participants in the Easter Trail will be able to meet the Easter bunny and claim a special mini Easter egg donated by Milburns, the Zoo’s new caterers. New Head Chef, Dan Smith, is set to ring in the changes at the Zoo’s Pelican Restaurant and Flamingo café and is hoping to make mouths water.

On April 6, animal-loving poet Claire Williamson makes a welcome return with wild poems to join-in with and starter games for writing our own poems. Young visitors can join in the fun of animal poetry in the Terrace Theatre at 10.30am, 11.30am, 12.30pm, 1.30pm, and 2.30pm. Bristol Zoo Gardens is delighted to be able to support the ‘Read a Million Words’ campaign with these wild poems. Children who bring their Read a Million Words passport will get a special stamp and lots more words to add to their total.

With spring around the corner, don’t miss the opportunity to pick up a pumpkin growing kit. Enjoy green-fingered fun and grow your own garden giant. In October, when your pumpkin reaches full size, why not decorate it and enter into the Zoo’s Pumpkin Carving Festival.

Suzanne Patrick, Events Co-ordinator said “we are offering so many different activities this Easter, there will be something for everyone. Spring is in the air the Zoo animals are becoming more active, with new babies to be seen’.

The Zoo’s Easter events run alongside the special day activities of Animal Encounter, face-painting and the interactive Zoolympics trail. With so much happening at the Zoo this Easter and over 400 species of animals to see there is only one place you need to go this Easter.
