Recycle your old mobile phone and help safeguard the future of gorillas

There are an estimated 66 million unused mobile phones gathering dust in homes across the UK. Greener Solutions is working with Bristol Zoo to encourage people to recycle their old mobiles. For every mobile phone recycled we will receive a guaranteed donation of £1.75, regardless of its age or condition.

Why?
Mobile phones contain coltan, a mineral extracted in the forests of the Congo Basin in central Africa, home to endangered lowland gorillas. Mining for coltan is now out of control and has led to a dramatic reduction of animal habitat and an increase in the illegal bushmeat trade. Reduce the need for coltan and help protect the gorillas. You’ll also be doing your bit to help the environment by saving waste from going to landfill. Even if your phone can’t be re-used, it will be recycled.
