June half term fun at Bristol Zoo Gardens

A special visitor will be flying in to Bristol Zoo Gardens next week, to take part in the Zoo’s super hero day.

‘Batman: The Brave and the Bold’ will be making appearances at the Zoo throughout the day on Tuesday, June 1st and youngsters are being encouraged to dress up as their favourite super hero and receive free entry between 9am and 11am (offer applies to one child with one full paying adult). .

Bristol Zoo’s Head of Marketing, Heather Holve, said: “Summer is upon us and the warmer has arrived, so now is a perfect time to visit the Zoo. We are looking forward to offering free entry to our younger visitors in super hero fancy dress on June 1st, if they arrive before 11am for this fantastic super hero day.”

The event is part of Bristol’s ‘100 Years of Aviation’ celebrations, which also see the Zoo team up with local aircraft manufacturer, Airbus, for an exhibition of flight. The exhibition, which focuses on Bristol Zoo’s conservation project for Livingstone’s fruit bats and fun activities to teach children about flight, will be held at Bristol Zoo from Saturday, May 29, to Tuesday, June 1.

The Zoo’s exciting aerial adventure ropes course, ZooRopia, will also be open every day, giving visitors the chance to swing alongside some of the Zoo’s most popular inhabitants – gibbons, gorillas and lemurs.

The Zoo’s half term events run alongside daily animal talks, Animal Encounters sessions in the Terrace Theatre, face-painting, Amazing Animals displays on the main lawn, and the interactive Zoolympics trail. With so much happening at the Zoo, and more than 450 species of animals to see, there is only one place you need to go this summer.
