The United Nations has declared 2010 the International Year of Biodiversity.
Biodiversity is the ‘variety of life on earth’ and it’s essential for sustaining the natural, living ecosystems that provide us with food, fuel, medicine and other crucial amenities.
We have the power to protect or destroy biodiversity. Sadly, some of man’s activities are threatening the world's environments, plants and animals at alarming rates. When a species is lost, it’s gone forever, and irreversible damage is done to the ecosystems and life support systems we rely on. We can stop this happening if we act now.

Join us at Bristol Zoo for exciting events that support the International Year of Biodiversity.
There is also an exciting 'All Creatures Great and Small' trail that teaches visitors about the importance of biodiversity. You have to find eight different species around the Zoo, at each location there will be a question for you to answer.
Completed trail cards should be taken to the Activity Centre to claim a sticker.
