We want to make sure you have a fun and memorable visit to Bristol Zoo Gardens. So, any time we're available to answer questions, offer advice and hear your suggestions. Visit us at the entrance desk in the Gift Store, or at the reception, opposite ZooRopia, and our helpful staff will be happy to assist you on any of the following:
Unfortunately we do not have a cash point on site.
Baby Care rooms
We have a dedicated feeding room by the nectar garden and the majority of our toilets have baby changing tables for your needs.
For general enquiries please call our information line, 0117 974 7300, between 8.30am and 5pm.
You can also email us at email@example.com.
First Aid assistance is available during opening hours. We have multiple trained first aid staff on site and a dedicated first aid room located by the Splash play area.
Unfortunately we do not allow dogs into the Zoo, but we do have two kennels located in the College road car park, to provide temporary accommodation for Assistance Dogs while their owners visit the Zoo. See our accessibility web pages for more information.
For large groups we have locker cages which are located by the education center. Keys can be requested from the main entrance, a refundable deposit of £10 will be requested for a locker cage.
Lost and Found
Please call our reception directly on 01179 747 300 for lost and found enquiries. All lost property is stored in our main reception building.
We recommend that you decide on an easy to find meeting point should your group or children become lost. Please approach any zoo staff if you need assistance with lost children.
Maps can be found throughout the zoo in selected locations. Maps can also be obtained from the main entrance, gift shop, reception desk and in various leaflet locations throughout the zoo. Please click here to see our online map
The Zoo has two car parks and permission to use overflow parking on Ladies Mile on the Downs. On the day of your visit please follow signs indicating where parking is available. There is a small charge for parking. Parking at the zoo is limited; we advise arriving early during peak periods to avoid disappointment. There is also limited parking available on the streets around the Zoo, but restrictions apply, and these are closely monitored by parking wardens.
What to wear
The weather in Britain can be very unpredictable. We recommend you prepare for every outcome. Don’t worry if you are caught out, our gift shop has umbrellas, ponchos, sunscreen and clothing for whatever the weather.
There are five manual wheelchairs and two mobility scooters available at the Zoo entrance. There is no hire charge for the manual wheelchairs and a £5.00 charge (£2.50 for members) with a deposit of £10 for the mobility scooters. It is strongly recommended that you book a wheelchair in advance of your visit to ensure that you get one. Please call 0117 974 7300 to reserve one.
We’re open every day from 9am-5.30pm in peak season (from 23 March 2013), and close at 5pm during off peak (from 1 November 2013). The Zoo is closed on Christmas Day. Last entry to the Zoo is an hour before closing time and animal houses close half an hour before closing time.
