With pumpkin carving competitions, creepy costume contests and a Halloween trail around the grounds, there is plenty to do at Bristol Zoo this October half term.

The Zoo’s Halloween festival starts on Saturday October 22, when visitors can pick up a free scratch trail card and solve riddles to reveal unusual creatures at home in the Zoo. There will also be the chance to meet Walter the wizard as he wanders around casting spells. There will be tasty treats for those who complete it.

The popular fancy dress competition takes place on Friday October 28, with prizes for the best spooky fancy dress. There will also be a pumpkin carving competition, sponsored by Bristol In Bloom. Visitors who carve or decorate a pumpkin and take it along to the Zoo on Friday October 28, can get free entry for one child with a full-paying adult.Walter the wizard
